Declaration of Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe in the absolute authority, accuracy, and inerrancy of the 66 books of the Bible, its full verbal inspiration of the original manuscripts and its all-sufficiency and final authority as the Christian's rule of faith and practice (Proverbs 30:5,6; Isaiah 40:8; II Timothy 3:16,17; II Peter 1:19-21; Numbers 23:19).
We believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30; John 4:24).
We believe in the deity of Christ (John 1:1; John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35), His shed blood for atonement (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14), His bodily resurrection (John 11:25), His ascension (Acts 1:1), and that He is true God and true man (John 1:14, Colossians 2:9, John 4:2) and is the only mediator between God and man (I Timothy 2:5)
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, makes believers children of God through the new birth, assuring them of heaven, and by his indwelling enables Christians to live a Godly life (John 16:8, I Corinthians 3:16, I Corinthians 12:13).
We believe that all men are by nature and choice sinful and lost and have within themselves no possible means of salvation (Romans 3:23, Romans 3:10)
We believe in salvation by grace through faith, that salvation is a free gift of God, not by any virtue or works of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that all true believers possess the gift of eternal life, and that they shall never perish (Acts 13:38,39; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 17:18; John 10:26)
We believe in Satan as a person and that Hell is a place of eternal conscious punishment of all unsaved (Job 1:6,7; Matthew 25,46; Revelation 20:14,15)
We believe in the second coming of Christ, that His return shall be personal, visible, and glorious, the time being unrevealed, but always imminent, that when He comes He will first by resurrection of the dead and translation of the living, remove His church, then pour out his righteous judgment on an unbelieving world, afterward He will descend with His Church and establish His kingdom over all nations for a thousand years (Acts 13:15-17; Ephesians 1:3-6;I Corinthians 12-13; Matthew 20:19,20; Acts 1:6-8; I Thessalonians 4:16-18).
We believe that the spirits of the saved go directly at death to be with the Lord Jesus in Heaven, and at His second coming their works will be judged and rewards determined, that the spirits of the unsaved go to Hades, until the final day of judgment, at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, judged, and cast into Hell, the place of final and everlasting punishment (Luke 23:43; Luke 16:23).
We believe in the priesthood of all believers, that Christ is our great High Priest and through Him all born again believers have direct access into God's presence, without need of a human priest, and that every believer has the right and responsibility to personally interpret the Scriptures, guided by the Holy Spirit (Hebrews).
We believe that a new testament church is a body of organized believers practicing the scriptural ordinances of baptism and the Lords Supper and actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission (Acts 2:41, 42; Acts 2:47; Matthew 28:19,20).
We believe the two scriptural ordinances given to the local church are baptism and the Lords Supper. Baptism is for believers only, and by immersion (Acts 8:38,39; Acts 2:41) to be administered by a new testament church (Romans 6:3-5); Matthew 3:15,16). The Lords Supper is to be partaken of by obedient Christians (I Corinthians 11:23-29).
